Silverton Hunt Branch of the Pony Club

A Branch of The Pony Club within Area 15

About

We are a friendly, welcoming branch of the Pony Club with a membership ranging in both age and experience.

The Silverton Hunt Branch was formed in 1931.  The Pony Club is an international voluntary youth organisation for youngsters interested in ponies and riding.  It is the largest association of riders in the world with a membership of over 100,000 in 16 countries.  Branch membership is for boys and girls under 25 years of age

The purpose of the Pony Club is:

  • To encourage young people to ride and to learn to enjoy all kinds of sport connected with horses and riding.
  • To provide instruction in riding and horsemanship, and to instil in members the proper care of their animals.
  • To promote the highest ideals of sportsmanship, citizenship and loyalty, thereby cultivating strength of character and self-discipline

The Pony Club is split into 19 Areas, with a number of Branches and Centres in each, across the country. The Silverton Hunt Branch is in Area 15. Our Area Representative is Deborah Custance Baker.
